The product is self-hosted

Chatstead is software you install on your own server. Messages, files and accounts created in your Chatstead installation stay on your server. We never receive, see or store that data.

What this website collects

This marketing website is intentionally minimal. It does not use advertising trackers or sell data. Basic, privacy-respecting server logs (such as IP address and page requested) may be kept briefly for security and to keep the site running.

The live demo

If you use the live demo, any data you enter there lives on the demo server and may be wiped when the demo is reset. Please don’t put sensitive information into the demo.

If you contact us

When you email us, we use your message and address only to reply and to provide support. We don’t use it for anything else.

Cookies

The website uses a single local setting to remember your light/dark theme preference. It is stored in your browser and is not shared with anyone.
